Men facing the midlife transition are standing at the very edge of this abyss. Far too many go over the edge, losing their relationships, their families, their careers, their very identities. No wonder men in this situation want to start all over again, create a new persona, and reinvent themselves.

Ladies, the guys had their chance to handle this themselves, and they’ve pretty much blown it, haven’t they? I think those rare and courageous men who’ve ‘gotten’ what I’ve been writing and talking about over the last number of months will ‘get’ it, too.

Ignorance of the risks you’re taking can’t in any way save you from them. To handle this situation effectively, you must have a knowledge and awareness of what you’ll be facing. If you’re a young man with midlife ahead of you, do you know what’s coming? Will you be ready for it when it does? The stakes may be much higher than you know.

Too many people think that this midlife transition is a joke, liberally sprinkled with career changes, trophy next wives, high-powered cars and other big, expensive toys. Middle age is anything but funny for a lot of individuals and families that fail to navigate it successfully and are left discontented and working to pick up the pieces.
