Too many people think that this midlife transition is a joke, liberally sprinkled with career changes, trophy next wives, high-powered cars and other big, expensive toys. Middle age is anything but funny for a lot of individuals and families that fail to navigate it successfully and are left discontented and working to pick up the pieces.
